On April 1, 2011 CNIS held a conference on "National Identity and Politics: Dilemmas of Azerbaijan and Turkey".  Leyla Aliyeva, president of the Center of National and International Studies and political analyst opened the conference and emphasized that national identity in Azerbaijan was shaped in the early 20th century, during the existence of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and was formed from the fusion of European and national ideology. Conference on “Development of Liberalism in Azerbaijan and Turkey” was held in Ganja

On December 4, conference on “Development of Liberalism in Azerbaijan and Turkey” organized by the Center for National and International Studies was held in Ganja. Conference on “Army, State and Society: History and Turkey’s Experience” was held in Gakh City

On June 6, 2010 the Center for National and International Studies (CNIS) held a conference in Gakh City titled “Army, State and Society: History and Turkey’s experience.” Among the participants of the conference were the President of CNIS, Dr. Leila Alieva, Professor of Istanbul Yeditepe University, Dr. Mesut Casin, historian Hadji Hasanov, military analyst Cesur Sumerenly, local expert Fuzuli Manafov, as well as representatives of civil society, executive power of Gakh city, teachers and students. Center for National and International Studies held a Conference “Civil Society’s Role in the Development of Democracy in Azerbaijan and Turkey”

On February 27 Center for National and International Studies organized and held a conference on the topic “ Civil Society’s Role in the Development  of Democracy in Azerbaijan and Turkey” in the ISR Plaza. Aicha Ergun, Deputy-Director for Black Sea and Central Asia of Ankara University of Turkey, and several well-known representatives of the Azerbaijani civil society took part at this conference.
